CWSA Earth Day Activities on the Islands of Bequia and Union Island

Staff from the Bequia and Union Island Solid Waste Management offices  participated in community activities to mark Earth Day. This important event took place on 22nd April, 2010 on which day, organizations and individuals around the world  engage in activities focusing on key environmental issues.

Although internationally, climate change was a priority, the local efforts focused on building a healthy, productive, and clean environment now and for the future. On Bequia SWMU staff hosted an exhibition under the almond tree and the Union Island staff was also involved in a community cleanup effort.
