 Drought Relief to the Grenadines

The recent 2009-2010 drought severely affected the larger Islands of the Grenadines and a total of two hundred and twenty four thousand (224,000) gallons of water had to be shipped by the CWSA to Union Island, Mayreau, Canouan and Bequia at no cost to the residents. This effort was a welcome one for these residents and special thanks were given to the members of the customer care department for their efforts in organizing the distribution on these islands and for limiting the inconveniences to the Grenadines residents during this period. The timely acquisition of a water tender (truck) late last year also ensured that distribution on these islands was accomplished in a safe and relatively efficient manner.
