The Central Water and Sewerage Authority has its own Internal Disaster Management Plan, to ensure system readiness at the commencement of the June to October Hurricane Season. CWSA's water supply systems are located in Fancy, Owia, Sandy Bay, Perseverance, Jennings, Montreal, Majorca, Mamoon, Layou and Hermitage.

During the October 30th passing of the category 1 Hurricane Tomas, all systems were affected, with the exception of the Layou Water Supply System. The systems suffered damage from mud slides and fallen trees, which resulted in broken pipes. By Sunday, October 31st, crews were mobilized in all areas; workers were checking tank levels and the work to restore water to affected citizens commenced.

By Tuesday 2nd November, most damaged major pipelines were restored and by Wednesday, the final water system, Mamoon was restored.

During the restorative period, water trucks were dispatched to the worst affected communities on the Northern side of the island. The CWSA also assisted the badly damaged island of St. Lucia by donating a quantity of pipes and fittings and bulk water to its sister Utility WASCO.
